20141003:
The food today was good.

In particular, the sour soup was pretty good. I both started and finished the meal with it.

(20141003)

Menu Description:
SAYUR ASAM [TAMARIND SOUR SOUP]
Sour soup of tropical vegetables like young jackfruit cooked with a mildly-spicy tamarind base.

The beef was super delicious.

Sayur Asam (Tamarind Sour Soup) (20150204)

Menu Description:
RENDANG* Mouth-watering spicy beef dish simmered slowly with ground spices and coconut milk.

*I might have ordered this.

I ate the chicken with my fingers. I liked the top piece more than the bottom piece.

Menu Description:
AYAM GORENG KUNING* Traditional Indonesian fried chicken. Fried chicken cooked Jayakarta style.
AYAM KALASAN* A tempting BBQ chicken, marinated in palm sugar and grilled Javanese-style.

*I probably ordered one of the two.

Empal Balado (20150204)

Note that a credit card requires a certain minimum, so my friend and I couldn't split the bill over two cards. 10:25PM PT

20150204:
Sayur asam, Rendang, Empal balado.

Menu Description:
EMPAL BALADO Tender marinated beef, deep-fried then served with topping of chili sauce.

Rendang (20150204)

I like the one on the left more (Empal Balado), especially because of the red sauce. Though there is a tinge of tingling from one of the three items. The entree on the right (Rendang) doesn't really soak up any sauce and I have to break it open to fully enjoy it (with the sauce). The rice today was a bit hard. 6:00PM PT

20150217:
Sayur asam, Kari Udang, Ayam Kalasan.

Kari Udang (20150217)

Menu Description:
KARI UDANG
Yellow shrimp curry mixed with potatoes. Currylicious.

My goodness this chicken is delicious!

Unfortunately, I found the shrimp curry (Kari Udang) to be less interesting. 1:06PM PT

Ayam Kalasan (20150217)

20150701:
Today I got B (Sayur Asam), #1, and #6. 1:28PM PT

Unfortunately, one of the two entrees gave me a serious stomach ache and I couldn't finish the meal.

Because I try not to waste food, I took the leftovers home and tried to eat what was left for dinner, one bite at a time. This resulted in a series of little stomach aches and no clear idea of whether #1 or #6 was causing the problem.

Actually, I began to suspect the sauce rather than the actual pieces of meat themselves, but I didn't remember which meat corresponded to the sauce.
