Rodizio Grill

20170716:
Today I ate here at Rodizio Grill (located inside Trolley Square on the second floor) with my fiancee Ada. Overall, I was unsatisfied with the quality of their meats.

The pictures generally reflect the order in which I received the food. Their captions will list the name as presented in the restaurant (when applicable), followed by the name as found on their online menu (when applicable). The comments generally reflect the moment when I was able to try a specific item.

Bananas Fritas
(1) Glazed Ham | Presunto

The glazed ham (1) tasted good; it was sweet.

(2) Garlic Steak | Bife Com Alho
(3) Pork Sausage | Linguica
(4) Some kind of fish

The fish (4) was okay. Ada liked it.

(5) Bacon-wrapped Jalapeno

The garlic steak (2) did not taste good. It was chewy and maybe cooked medium-well.

(6) Rib
(7) Center Cut | Miolo da Paleta
(8) Top Sirloin | Picanha

The bacon-wrapped Jalapeno (5) was delicious.

The rib (6) tasted good, the meat came right off the bone.

(9) Chicken Bake
(10) Bacon-Wrapped Chicken | Frango Com Bacon
(11) Tri-Tip | Maminha

The pork sausage (3) was not bad. Possibly a tad salty.

The seasoning of this center cut (7) tasted good, but the beef itself was dry.

The tri-tip (11) was delicious.

Unfortunately this chicken bake (9) was terribly dry.

At some point during this time I also acquired two pieces of pineapple (not pictured) and five chicken hearts (coracao, not pictured) came out. The chicken hearts were tough and dry, but since I love chicken hearts, I ate all five.

Next I tried the bacon-wrapped chicken (10). Like most other meats thus far, it was tough and dry.

(13) Center Cut | Miolo da Paleta
(14) Sweet and Spicy Chicken | Frango Agri-Doce
(15) Sweet and Spicy Rib

I still had some bacon-wrapped jalapeno (5) left and I finished it.

The first time I was given a slice of center cut beef (7) I couldn't catch what the server was saying. I even asked him to spell it and noted it as "cenicut." However, upon receiving this slice of center cut beef (13), I clearly processed the name as "center cut" and deduced the previous slice (7) as also being center cut beef. In any case, this slice (7) was tough.

(16) Top Sirloin | Picanha

The sweet and spicy chicken (14) was actually moist and tasty. I was surprised after all the dry pieces of meat I had been eating.

Finally, both slices of top sirloin (8, 16) were mediocre experiences.

At one point I was waiting for some lamb to come. Not seeing any come to our table, I asked a server if I could get some and he seemed to acknowledge my request. After some more waiting, I asked another server and he said that lamb was only served on certain holidays and that today there was none. On that note, their system with red and green works for most people, but sometimes displaying the type of meat desired would be helpful - especially for those with meat preferences.

(17a) Brazilian Caramel Flan | Pudim de Leite
(17b) Chocolate Cake

While I wasn't strictly on a low-carb diet, I was trying to avoid carbs as much as possible. Unfortunately, I also didn't want our prepaid dinner that included dessert to go to waste and so I ordered a Brazilian caramel flan (17a). It was thick and creamy - delicious! Meanwhile, Ada had some sort of chocolate cake (17b). I thought it was alright.
