Champa Garden

2018:
Ada and I came to Champa Garden for the first time today and we ordered fried spring rolls, pad thai with chicken (for Ada), and pad se-ew with duck (for me).

Pad Thai with Duck (and PEANUTS!)

Despite our request for no peanuts, the pad thai came out with peanuts; it should also be noted that their menu does not specify peanuts in the dish.

Furthermore, and though it took a while for us to realize, the chicken and duck were switched: pad thai with duck and pad se-ew with chicken. This was upsetting because I could only eat so much of the pad thai with duck before I was afraid of contamination by the peanuts, I liked the pad se-ew ("okay") more than the pad thai ("good"), and the chicken was dry.

Menu Description:
Pan Fried Noodles > Pad Thai Rice noodles, tamarind, eggs, beansprouts & choice of meat 9.5

Pad Se-ew with Chicken

The only upside was that when we concluded the chicken and duck had been switched, we brought it up with the server and he deducted the price of the dish. An alternative option was to have them remake the pad se-ew with duck, but I was nearly full and didn't want to wait for a new dish to arrive.

Menu Description:
Pan Fried Noodles > Pad Se-ew Thick rice noodles, soy sauce, eggs, broccoli & choice of meat 9.5

Ada thought the fried spring rolls were okay. I liked the fish sauce. 8:23 PM PT
