I cut the pancit palabok into segments with my knife. I should have cut more into the edges. Anyways, I added lemon from the pack and a little bit of fresh lemon as well.

Pancit Palabok

There was no discernible saltiness except a reasonable amount in the meat (pork). I liked the crunchiness of the chicharrones. I liked the sauce.

I'm felt like the palabok from Red Ribbon was better than the one from Jollibee. 3:08PM

Mango Roll

Later in the evening we ate the mango roll and it was delicious. The cake was moist and the mango jelly tasted good.

The uni nigiri didn't taste fresh. Ada didn't try any of it (her stomach wasn't feeling well).

Both Ada and I were a bit surprised that the tempura was served outside of the soup, but in hindsight it made sense. The udon broth was sweet. 11:40PM PT

I'd probably be satisfied with coming here and getting a bento box or udon, but I wouldn't come here and order any more sushi; there are plenty of better places to get sushi.

20170107:
After going to the movies, Ada and I were hungry. Although we weren't entirely pleased coming here the first time around, we decided to give it another try.

Tempura (20170107)

We ordered tempura, albacore, salmon roe tami, and a side salad.

I started with the tempura, and unfortunately the tempura sauce tasted plain. At least, however, both the albacore and the salmon roe tami tasted decent.

Given that the experience was already mediocre, we were also expecting the salad for which we requested there be no sesame oil. When the salad came out with sesame dressing on it, we had it redone. But as we were almost done eating, we called a waitress to cancel it. Soon after, another waitress came and asked if we still wanted it at no charge, but we declined because by that point we had lost our appetite for it.

In the end, we decided that two poor/average experiences here was enough reason to never come back.

We ordered soup, spare ribs (appetizer), red curry with chicken, and a side of garlic and ginger rice.

Spicy Assorted Seafood Soup

The soup was tasty and all the seafood was delicious.

I could smell the garlic from the ribs. Unfortunately, the ribs were thoroughly crispy; I don't mind a crisp exterior, but the interior should be soft and juicy.

The curry had a nice spicy flavor. I liked the taste of the basil. The bamboo still had a delightful crunch. Ada found the chicken was dry. Focusing on the taste of the sauce, I hadn't noticed. Upon eating a meatier piece of chicken, I co 7:35PM PT

Overall, we liked the food but there was a slight misunderstanding with our order. We asked for the red curry, and somehow (despite repeating ourselves) the waiter had us down for the yellow curry. When the yellow curry came out, I told him we ordered the red. Maybe business has been slow or something, because then another worker, perhaps his supervisor, came to double-check that we wanted the red and not the yellow.

Thus, while the issue was corrected, the attempt to blame me for the error was not an experience I expect to have when coming to a restaurant.

This fig with bacon slice was delicious. There was some garlic and I liked the cheese.

Pizza by the slice.

Unfortunately, the toppings weren't evenly spread and I had to balance out my bites in order to save the best bite for last. 5:46PM PT

Four Barrel Coffee

20160904:
With time to spare as I waited for my coworkers to arrive, I decided to order from the slow bar. I did, however, feel intimidated by the setup as I stood waiting in line.

In any case, after looking through the different choices, I decided to get the Audino Especial Columbia.

It has a light and fruity smell. It tastes light. It actually reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on what. Maybe some sort of light berry juicy. 1:51PM PT

Unfortunately, the establishment neither had wi-fi nor power outlets. Because of the first, my coworkers and I ended up relocating to another establishment. Fortunately for Four Barrel Coffee, I already made my coffee purchase for the day.
