Tacomania

2017:
After watching Disney on Ice, Ada and I went to eat at a food truck called Tacomania. The food truck, however, is not mobile.

Alambre Hawaino

I got the alambre hawaiano. It was a lot of food.

It was hard to eat with a fork, but it was delicious; a spoon would have been better. I liked the small pineapple bits.

Tandoori Mahal

20171017:
Today Ada and I decided to come here to use a Groupon she had purchased. We ordered the coconut lamb (medium spicy) and the chicken tikka misala (mild). We also got the goat cheese naan and basmati rice. 5:43PM PT

After we finished the goat cheese naan, we still had plenty of lamb and chicken so we ordered a serving of spinach naan.

20171011:
The protein in the Brisket Tacos was delicious, but tasted nothing like brisket.

Southern Fried Chick-Non

The Chick-Non had a texture that reminded me of fried calamari. The sauce was good. It was like a gravy.

The mac and cheese was decent. The vegetables were good.

Brisket Tacos

I had a slight tingle in mouth from the food (I suspect one of the proteins has some soy). More specifically, it was a light reaction, unlike my (moderate) reaction from yesterday at the State Fair of Texas.

State Fair of Texas 20171010

Fletcher's

20171010:
The first item I ate at the fair was a jalapeño cheese corny dog from Fletcher's.* It had a crisp exterior with a subtle corn taste. It was delicious; I never knew a corn dog could taste this amazing. It was well worth the 14 tickets ($7) to get one (technically I shared one with my friend Avi). 5:29PM CT

Next up, the turkey leg. I split half with Ayin, and our other friends shared some bites as well. While turkey legs can sometimes be dry, it's generally worth the risk. Fortunately, this turkey leg was juicy and delicious. As far as fair food goes, I'd say it was worth the 22 tickets ($11). However, if I only had 22 tickets to spend and had the choice between the corny dog and the turkey leg, I'd get a corny dog. 5:56PM CT

Next we decided to order a fried Twinkie and fried Pop Tart, everybody had a bite (there were six of us in total). Unfortunately one or both of the items caused a reaction on my tongue.** 5:56PM CT

As we walked throughout the fair, this unsettling discomfort in my mouth transitioned to my stomach.***

The pecan pie shake from Scrumbscious Pieshakes that Adam got has a great texture and decent taste. 6:18PM CT

Next up, my friend Jamison got a bacon-topped cinnamon roll that tasted exactly as I expected it would: like eating a bacon-topped donut but with a cinnamon roll. 6:21PM CT

Finally, the last item I got at the fair, in hopes of washing away some of the discomfort in my mouth, was the Funnel Cake Ale. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have under normal conditions. In fact, when I went to get the beer, the smell emanating from the stand (the same stand that sold the fried Pop Tart and fried Twinkie) intensely triggered my stomach ache. 9:38PM CT

*Upon writing this post, I learned that Fletcher's calls their corn dogs "corny dogs" and that they're a staple of the Texas State Fair.
**An alternative hypothesis is cross-contamination from something somebody else ate, but that's less likely than traces of peanut in the peanut oil.
***Then later in the night, after lying down for a long time in a state between sleep and restlessness, the discomfort transitioned even further and I had to use the restroom a couple of times.
