Red Robin Gourmet Burgers & Brews

Prior to 20101226:
I've been to Red Robin several times before. Most of those have been at the Santa Ana location, a few at the Fashion Island location, and once at a location in Maryland.

20101226:
I love Red Robin. Bottomless Root Beer floats... too many refills isn't the best of ideas.

20110705:
Today I got one of my favorite burgers: the Whiskey River BBQ Burger. At first I was looking at the chicken menu and was about to order the Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Sandwich, but then I did a double-take and asked myself, "Chicken!?!" I proceeded to the next page and sighed in relief as I saw the Whiskey River BBQ Burger. I like many other burgers here at Red Robin, but sometimes I just can't resist the allure of BBQ. I also substituted sweet potato fries for the steak fries.

As of 20110712, I recalled liking the sweet potato fries at Fuji's Famous Burger better.

Red Robin's Website Description:
Whiskey River BBQ Burger Don’t be afraid to get a little saucy. Basted with our signature Whiskey River® BBQ Sauce and lassoed together with Cheddar cheese, crispy onion straws, lettuce, fresh tomatoes & mayo. $9.39

To drink I had a Sand In Your Shorts.

20120526:
S.N. ordered a stack of onion rings for us all to share. I ordered a Cherry Lime Flip (to drink) and an A.1. Peppercorn Burger.

Red Robin's Website Description:
A.1. PEPPERCORN Hardwood-smoked bacon, melted Pepper-Jack cheese, A.1.® Peppercorn Spread, crispy onion straws and fresh tomatoes on an onion bun. It’s a taste explosion! $10.39

I wrote: "This A.1. Peppercorn is good at first, but becomes too much for me to handle. Mainly, for me, the sauce is overwhelming. Secondly, the hamburger bun." 9:22 PM PDT

20120615:
Today the service was bad, but my Salted Caramel Shake was good. After ordering a shake, I asked the waitress for water. When the shake came back, my friend got a water, but I didn't. After some time, I either asked again from our waitress or a different worker. Fine. No big deal. But then at some point, my friend got his water refilled, but mine wasn't. Luckily for me, my friend was willing to split his refilled water in half. It also took us a while to get napkins. I recall at least one thing else went wrong, but I don't remember what.

Of course, my friends and I are quite understanding about the issue. Restaurants get busy and waiters and waitresses are doing their best to wait on all the customers. They can easily forget a table or become so busy they simply can not keep up. That's fine, but then they must understand we are justified in giving less tip than we would normally give.

Separate from the service, I didn't like the burger I ordered. Out of the three ways to upgrade their Red's Tavern Double, I chose Cantina Jack Style. I was probably thinking it'd be healthier than adding bacon (Pig Out Style). Darn my attempt at eating slightly healthier than usual.

Red's Tavern Double (20120615)

Red Robin's Website Description:
Red's Tavern Double Two fire-grilled classic-sized patties, topped with melted American cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato and Red’s Secret Tavern Sauce on a toasted sesame bun, all wrapped in foil to help contain all of this Tavern goodness.

In a press release found on the Red Robin website, the three Tavern Styles have the following descriptions:
Cantina Jack Style – In a nod to the Southwest, a green chili aioli, roasted green chiles and Pepper-Jack cheese give this Tavern Style a distinctive regional flavor.
Pig Out Style – A bacon-lover's dream, this Tavern Style features a creamy bacon aioli paired with strips of hardwood-smoked bacon.
Buzzalo Style – A kickin' addition to the Tavern Styles that combines Red Robin's tangy Buffalo Sauce with crumbled Bleu cheese, Bleu cheese dressing and crispy celery straws

The same press release also describes the Salted Caramel Shake.
Also available for a limited time, Red Robin's new Salted Caramel Shake is a perfect way to enjoy a cool and creamy blend of sweet and salty. An innovative addition to Red Robin's lineup of delicious milkshakes, malts and other dessert offerings, the Salted Caramel Shake combines soft serve ice cream, milk, and decedent caramel sauce mixed with Red Hawaiian Sea Salt and topped with whipped cream and red sea salt sprinkles. The savory interaction of sweet and salty combined with the unexpected "crunch" of the sea salt offers milkshake lovers a truly unique and refreshing dessert – or a great beverage accompaniment to Red's Tavern Double and Tavern Style burgers.

20150729:
After buying some much needed clothes, I walked around the mall for some much needed food. Failing to find any novel restaurant of interest, I decided to fall back on an old favorite: Red Robin.

However, instead of ordering a burger, I ordered a salad with chicken.

Menu Description:
Banzai Salad There's something special about the citrus-ale dressing hugging the teriyaki chicken, perfectly matching the grilled pineapple and mandarin oranges with shredded carrots, parsley and almonds over mixed greens. Served with garlic toast 10.79
