Today I came here with my friends Patrick and Keisha for happy hour sushi and drinks.
I wrote: "Huh, I don't think I've had a mango martini before. It reminds me of drinks which are mixed with peach. The first sip tasted bad, probably because the taste clashed with the gum I had been chewing. After the taste of gum had disappeared, I took another sip and the drink didn't even taste like it had alcohol in it. The Tsunami tasted good too." 7:20PM
Raven Roll: I was hoping for more crunch with the Raven Roll (soft-shelled crab).
Laura Roll: The Laura Roll was good. Oh wow.
J&J Roll: I definitely tasted the spiciness of this J&J Roll. I didn't feel sick from the spicy tuna, that's good.*
Piece of ginger.
Super Bowl Roll: The Super Bowl Roll was simple, but good.
Crazy Rock-n-Roll: The Crazy R and R had a delicious tasting sauce.
Tropical Maki: The Tropical Maki had a bright flavor and definitely conjured images of "tropical" in my mind.
Roman Roll: The mango on the Roman Roll contrasts well with the spicy tuna. 7:40PM
*To clarify, once I ate a spicy tuna roll somewhere and it made me feel sick. I suspect this was due to the use of sesame oil/chili oil which uses sesame oil. Thus, I took a risk trying the J&J Roll here, but it went down fine, so I like to make note of it as "I don't feel sick from the spicy tuna."
The consensus seemed to be that the Super Bowl Roll, Laura Roll, and Crazy Rock-N-Roll were the top three sushi rolls which we ordered. I wrote: "Me: 1SuperBowl 2Laura 3Crazy. Pat: 1Laura 2Crazy 3SuperBowl. Keisha: Laura is creamy, Super Bowl has a crunch, Crazy R&R, Raven lacked avocado and the bare fish was less welcoming." 8:27PM
I wrote: "This Lychee Martini mainly tastes like sake. And so it should, because apparently sake is part of the drink. I can, however, taste the lychee after letting the drink sit a while." 9:05PM
