Akbar Restaurant

Food:
Vegetable Samosa (Wikipedia "Samosa")
So I didn't eat this, because I had bad experiences with it in the past. Caroline was able to figure out that I probably didn't like the vegetable samosas because they have peas in them. Yes, that explains it. Peas leave a terrible taste on my tongue.
Chicken Tikka Masala (Wikipedia "Chicken Tikka Masala") with naan (Wikipedia "Naan")
How does it compare to Tamber's? Well, I thought the chicken pieces were oddly shaped. That is to say, the shape affected their taste in my mouth. Caroline, who has eaten at both places several times, suggested perhaps they were cut differently at the two places. She herself doesn't really eat much of the chicken pieces from either place, and for her its the taste of the sauce. I wouldn't say one tastes better than the other, but that they taste different. But again, I only had this dish at each place once. Caroline suggested that the sauce is sweeter at Akbar than at Tamber's.
Service:
For some reason or another, they seemed rushed to get me out of the restaurant. First there was some sort of bread or cracker served at the beginning. It comes with three sauces to dip it in. When the main courses were ready, I wasn't asked if I was done with the break or cracker, but it was taken away before I could say I wanted to finish it. Not a big deal, but I felt like it would be food wasted. Then at the end of the meal, we asked for the food to go, and there was only one piece of chicken left, so the waiter said, just eat it. Now, I suppose I was able to eat it, but I feel like if a customer wants to get something to go, then he/she made a conscious decision to stop eating. So I took the chicken, but then before I knew it, he takes the rice, which is what you want to eat with the sauce. So there was all this delicious sauce, which trumps the lousy chicken, sitting in a bowl ready to be thrown out. Bah!
Next time: Lamb
